1. About VBN
VBN is a directory that lists businesses after review and shows whether their compliance documents have been checked. VBN is not a party to any agreement between customers and businesses and does not guarantee the quality of any third-party goods or services.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
3. Verification
"Verified" means that the required documents were checked by VBN at the time of approval and had not expired. It is not an endorsement, licence or guarantee. Businesses must keep their documents current.
4. Business subscriptions
- New listings start on a 30-day Free Trial, then continue on Level 1 (R199/month), Level 2 (R299/month) or Level 3 (R499/month) as a marketing fee.
- Payments are processed by PayFast and renew monthly until cancelled.
- Unpaid subscriptions may cause a listing to be hidden or downgraded.
- Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of their listing, specials and vouchers, and must honour vouchers they offer.
5. Reviews and vouchers
Reviews must be honest and based on a real experience. Vouchers are valid for 30 days, are issued by the business, and have no cash value unless the business says otherwise. We may hide or remove reviews that are false, abusive or unlawful.
6. Blacklist reports
Reports must be truthful and supported by evidence. Submitting false or malicious reports may expose you to legal liability, including for defamation. VBN reviews reports before publishing and may remove entries at its discretion. Affected businesses may contact us to dispute an entry.
7. Acceptable use
- No fake accounts, spam, harassment or illegal content.
- No scraping or misuse of other users' contact details.
- No uploading files you do not have the right to share.
8. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, including the Consumer Protection Act, VBN is not liable for losses arising from dealings between customers and businesses or from reliance on listings or reports. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot lawfully waive.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information under POPIA.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Questions: hello@vbn.example. We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the latest version.
